How it works โ†“

How it works

LunchWheel is a random restaurant picker for when everyone says "I don't mind". Spin a wheel of your own favourite spots, or let it pick from what's around you.

Make a list

Add the places you actually go to. We'll fill in the address, opening hours and a map where we can.

Or spin what's nearby

Can't be bothered making a list? Nearby mode puts the restaurants, cafes and pubs around you straight on the wheel.

Share it with your group

Send the link and everyone can add their favourites. Handy for office lunches and group chats that never agree.

Spin and go

Filter by cuisine or tags like vegan or quick, hit spin, and go eat. Not feeling it? Spin again, we won't tell.

Questions

Is it free?

Yep. No sign-up and nothing to download.

Do I need an account?

No. Your wheel lives at its own link, so keep that and you can come back any time. Set a password in the settings if you want to manage it from another phone or laptop.

Can my friends add places?

Yes. Send them the link and they can add their favourites. If you'd rather keep it to yourself, you can change who can edit in the settings.

Can I make my wheel private?

Yes. In the settings, set who can see it to admins only, so the link alone won't open it. To share it with friends or colleagues, set a password and send it with the link. Anyone with the password can change the settings too, so keep it to people you trust.

How does it find places near me?

If you let it use your location, it looks up restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars within a few km using OpenStreetMap. Your location is only used to find places, nothing else.

Can I put it on my home screen?

Yes. Add it to your home screen and it opens full screen, like an app.

Does it work for dinner?

Of course. It's called LunchWheel but it doesn't check the time.
